2 arrested as police confiscate contraband milk worth Sh3m in Nairobi
Police on Thursday confiscated different brands of contraband milk worth Sh3 million in Embakasi, Nairobi.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said the operation rid the nation of contrabands to ensure food safety has heightened.
The confiscated milk included over 10,000 tins of various milk products from Saudi Arabia.
Police also nabbed two suspects with contraband milk products from Malaysia.
According to DCI, the two suspects are currently being processed for arraignment.
This comes two days after other milk products estimated at Sh10 million were recovered in Eastleigh.
During the raid, police arrested seven suspects and they were subsequently charged.
The seven suspects were charged with three counts and released on a Sh2 million bond.
The multi-agency crackdown incorporated Kenya Dairy Board and KRA officers.
