Police and Kenya Power and Lighting officials are investigating an incident in which a seven-year-old boy was electrocuted at his school in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay.
The body was among pupils at the school when he was electrocuted on January 15 at about 3 pm.
This was after he touched a live naked wire. The body of the boy was found lying next to the school fence moments after the incident happened.
Police said a live wire believed to be illegally connected was lying along the fence.
The minor was rushed to Kendubay Adventist Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Police and Kenya Power officials visited the scene as part of the probe into the electrocution.
In Nairobi, police and Kenya Power officials are investigating another incident in which a 45-year-old man was electrocuted while warming water in his house in Githurai 44.
The body of Charles Karanja Kinyanjui was found lying in a house moments after he had died Saturday.
He was holding a water heater and wires on his hands and the body was partially soaked in water, police said.
Officials are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the drowning of a 60-year-old man in Mwea, Kirinyaga. The body of Daniel Kinyua was discovered having drowned in a well and beside his body was a sack of charcoal, police said.
And a two-year-old boy drowned in an open hole in a neighbour’s compound in Webuye, Bungoma.
The hole had been dug there to hold rainwater for making bricks, police said.
Police said the deceased was in the company of the neighbour’s daughter around Monday playing there when he slipped there and drowned.
Neighbours retrieved the body and tried to administer first aid to him in vain.
The body was moved to St Bakhita Funeral Home awaiting postmortem.
Police said they are investigating the death.
