Michelle Awuor Okatch and her family are worried because they are unable to raise secondary school fees despite her spectacular performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). As it stands, the bright girl from Asembo Bay in Rarieda sub-county may lose her precious position in the school because of her financial predicament. “My parents are not financially stable; my dad got an accident, which disabled him physically, and my mother is a housewife. They do not have an income to cater for me in secondary school ,”read a placard by Awuor. “Iam appealing to all well-wishers to help me realise my dream of becoming a journalist,” read another part. Obama got 412 marks in the 2023 KCPE exams and is set on becoming an academic giant. While his dreams are valid, Obama said that he risked missing out on his place at the school of his choice because of the lack of fees.
