YY Comedian Insinuates Kenyans Are Bitter with Thriving Celebrities, Support Struggling Ones

In an interview with Mungai Eve, YY said that Kenyans tend to abandon celebrities who are doing well and support those who are struggling. Why Kenyan celebs don't last long The comedian explained that Kenyans only show love and appreciation to celebrities when facing challenges or hardships, but the moment they achieve their goals or dreams, they lose their fan base. He said that Kenyans are always looking for the next big thing and forget about the ones who have already made it. He gave some examples of celebrities who have experienced this phenomenon. He mentioned Flaqo, a top comedian who rose to fame after people started hating on Mulamwah and comparing him unfavourably to Flaqo. He said that Flaqo was the talk of the town until he landed a lucrative advertising deal with a supermarket, and then people dumped him and moved on to Crazy Kennar. "Look at Flaqo; he is a top comedian. He rose thanks to people hating on Mulamwah. Flaqo rose to fame when people started dissing Mulamwah and rating him below Flaqo. People were like Flaqo is above you, and that is when everybody started singing Flaqo. Then when he got a lucrative advertising job with a supermarket, people dumped him and started praising Crazy Kennar.  That is how fans are always dealing with artists. They hail Chipukeezy, but when he buys a Mercedes Benz, they turn against him. They will praise Akuku Danger today, but when he starts his own company, they will withdraw their support. They transport someone before he/ she transitions to the next level," he said in an interview with Mungai Eve. YY advises people to prioritise parents Previously, the comedian challenged young people to construct houses for their parents before starting their construction projects. He cautioned Kenyans against building their own houses first while their parents are living poorly, urging them to elevate their parents before elevating themselves. According to YY, failure to do this might result in halted and unfinished construction projects.
