Why 'Nelly' has been the top trend in Kenya this weekend

An interesting WhatsApp message announcing that a bride was postponing her wedding has captivated the interwebs.

It appears the bride named Nelly was having second thoughts and relayed her uncertainty to a committee member who shared the news canceling the wedding hours to the nuptials.

"Hi everyone hope you are fine. Thanks for your support towards Amos and Nelly's wedding. This is an official communication to our members here and the public at large. OUR SCHEDULED WEDDING PLANNED FOR TOMORROW has been postponed until further notice. We will communicate with you and are sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding," the committee member indicated.

Reactions from the WhatsApp group show us that the curiosity was large. The person who announced responded to inquiries,

"Good morning friends, many friends of Amos and Nelly are calling me asking me why the wedding was postponed. The MAIN REASON is NELLY REQUESTED TO BE GIVEN MORE TIME. The CHURCH and the parents from both sides CONSIDERED her request. Thanks for understanding."

The person then went ahead to quote the Bible Verse, Romans 8:28,

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

This still was not enough to convince the Whatsapp group members who asked if Nelly was the problem in delaying the much-anticipated ceremony.

"Tell us why postponed tuone ka tunaeza saidia si msichana ni wetu ndiyo tujue kaa yeye ndio the course naona mnasema Amos Amos."
