Nairobi Businessman in Court after Allegedly Beating Man Who Gossiped about His Girlfriend

 

Boniface Ouko Ogutu, alias Jubilee, was arrested after police investigations revealed he was wanted for beating up Boniface Kyalo Wambua on Thursday, November 9. Ogutu allegedly used a plastic pipe in the assault, accusing him and others of backbiting his girlfriend. . Wambua reported the incident after seeking medical treatment at the Mbagathi County Hospital. As reported by Nairobi News, Ogutu allegedly also declined arrest by Sergeant Daniel Wambua and his colleagues. What happened during Ogutu's arrest Ogutu is also alleged to have incited the public to attack police officers during a security operation in Mukuru Kaiyaba slums, Nairobi. During an operation initiated by undercover officers responding to public concerns over violent robberies in the area, Ogutu allegedly incited the public to attack the police officers at the Kaiyaba matatu stage. The officers were beaten with stones thrown by youths reportedly mobilised by Ogutu in an apparent attempt to free arrested suspects.  Police called for reinforcements, allowing them to handcuff him and take him to the Industrial Area police station. Appearing before Principal Magistrate Erick Mutunga at the Makadara Law Courts, he denied the charges against him and was released on a bond of KSh50,000 and an alternative cash bail of kSh20,000. Witnesses in the case include Wambua, Sergeant Wambua, and three other police officers. Man in court for slapping female employee In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man was charged with assaulting his wife's employee after she allegedly told his wife he was a womaniser. Joseph Thuo allegedly slapped his wife's shop attendant, Judy Wairimu Kiarie, on June 6, causing him bodily harm. Appearing in court, Thuo claimed Kiarie abused him and labelled him a womaniser who abuses his salesgirls. Thuo's wife and Kiarie proceeded to the Central Police Station to report the incident and later sought medical attention.
