Monitor reports that the two left their home on December 24 to buy meat for Christmas Day, but Acot left his wife at the trading centre and headed home. His wife, on the other hand, arrived home at 4 am, and a fierce fight ensued between the two, resulting in his death. Acot married Apio only six months after the death of his legally married wife, with whom they shared four children. According to Aco's eldest son, Maurice Okello, Apio went to tell him that his father had died before running for the hills. "I rushed to the scene and found him lying on the floor with some head injuries," said Okello. Apio is now at Apac Police Station, while her later husband's body was taken to the morgue.
