Lady Who Swallowed Ring, 4 Other Best Proposals of 2023

 

Kenyans in relationships, among them celebrities, set the bar so high for singles. Best proposals of 2023. Quite a number went all out to propose to their spouses, and many won the hearts of many with their unique proposals. TUKO.co.ke shares some of the most memorable five proposals of 2023. 1. Bahati The musician-turned-politician proposed to his partner, Diana Marua, for the second time in June.  The romantic man drove the content creator to a picnic site at an undisclosed location next to a water body. The two then went on a solo date in the middle of the water. While at the classy setup with Diana sitting on well-arranged white cushions with red roses sprinkled everywhere and baskets. The father of five then took out a box wrapped in colourful paper tied with a white ribbon. He asked her to unwrap the gift at the picnic site or at home, and she decided to do it there. After opening the box full of flowers, she found an iPhone 14 Pro Max inside and couldn't keep calm. She kissed her man over and over, thanking him for making her wish come true. The upcoming rapper thanked her husband for everything, saying she loves him unconditionally. Bahati then revealed to his partner that he wanted to marry her officially, leaving her teary. 2. Nicah the Queen In May, the controversial gospel artiste announced she was finally engaged to her lover, DJ Slahver. Nicah shared a video from her surprise proposal, showing the moment gospel artiste Lady Bee and another woman walked her to a place where Slahver was on one knee, waiting to propose. Nicah was guided inside a heart-shaped with red and cream petals. Her two daughters were present. "A snippet of how my engagement went down, I can only say thank you, Jesus," she wrote in part. Nicah, who broke up with comedian turned radio presenter over five years ago, bragged about getting more than 10 proposals from men worldwide.  But a few months later, the pair parted ways even before they could walk down the aisle. 3. Tana River Man This story went viral. It was one of a kind. A Tana River man, Johannah Charo, planned to surprise his lover Jessica Hawayu, and with the help of his family, they decided to bury the ring in her plate of pilau. They were convinced she would see the ring in her food, but her father didn't like the idea. After the food was served and everyone was enjoying their share, Charo tiptoed towards his lover from behind, but his plan was halted after she started choking on the food. Jessica had unknowingly swallowed the ring, and after her dad hit her three times on the back, she vomited the ring, leaving family members panicked. The lady collapsed, was rushed to hospital, and later said 'Yes'. 4. Mombasa Man A young man displayed love and romance as he proposed to his beautiful partner at a famous nightclub in Mombasa. Amid cheers and the DJ's musical tunes, the heartfelt proposal left everyone in awe, creating a magical atmosphere. The two lovebirds shared a kiss, and the surrounding crowd burst into applause and celebration. The couple's proposal video went viral, with many praising the man for his creativity. 5. Kenyan Man The man, identified as Michael Kisavi, surprised his girlfriend of five years on her birthday with an expensive KSh 102,000 engagement ring. Brigid Lackie, the bride-to-be, had said she would propose to the man if he did not do it first, prompting him to get down on one knee. The delighted lady could not hide her excitement and happiness in photos and videos shared by the couple, where she showed off her ring.
