Kenya Railways suspends commuter services in 5 Nairobi routes

 

Five routes of the Nairobi Commuter Raila service have been suspended, according to a statement from Kenya Railways.

Wednesday's notice stated that the suspension would be in place from Thursday, December 21, 2024, until January 2, 2024.

"We wish to inform customers that the Nairobi Commuter Rail Services to Ruiru, Embakasi Village, Limuru, Lukenya, and Syokimau will be suspended from 21st December 2023 till 2nd January 2024," the memo said in part.

The management withheld the cause of the closure. It is a sluggish season for the Nairobi Commuter Rail services, nevertheless, since many Kenyans have traveled upcountry during this festive season.

"We take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy festive season," the Management stated.
