'I'm ready to die on stage!' Koffi Olomide tells Maina Kageni about Mega-Nairobi concert

Rhumba maestro Koffi Olomide was Thursday, December 7 hosted on the Classic 105 morning show host Maina Kageni about his forthcoming weekend show.

Koffi was full of praise for his Kenyan music fanbase, crediting them with his fame.

"I missed Kenya.  I missed my family and my fans. Seven years (away), nobody has suffered like I did, like not getting the opportunity to be back in this country," he said about his immigration challenges.

He spoke about the show and what we should expect,

"Definitely I will die on the stage, I will give the best of my soul and my heart in each song. I need to see again these people who made Koffi. Like 60 percent of my country have been built in Kenya."

He is known for his dance moves and energy on stage. This is what he will deliver,

"My plan is to bring more than I did before. I need absolutely to give the best of myself."

He has big words to say about Davido and Diamond. He currently has a collaboration with Davido

"The last song with Davido was out 3 days ago. That's my kids, I respect and love them. They are young, they could be my sons. They have talent. Diamond is Diamond, Davido is good, the best you get in life is coming from the youth, the young."

Is he ever going to work with any Kenyan musician?

"I'm ready for them. That's my last dream to work with a Kenyan artiste. I am ready. I have like four day s in Nairobi. If any want to meet we talk, I'm ready."

Koffi’s concert will be going down on December 9, 2023, at The Dome, Jamhuri Showground on Ng'ong Road in Nairobi for an ultimate Rhumba Night organized by Radio Africa Events.
