Has Kate Actress stumbled on a new catch?

 

A few days ago, popular actress Catherine Kamau aka Kate actress made it clear there was little chance of reuniting with her ex-husband Phillip Karanja, a renowned film director.

She made the statement in response to online comments in which she shared a picture of herself, Karanja, and their daughter on her 4th birthday celebrations.

Kate, known for her prominent role in the Selina show, was adamant she was not keen on reuniting with her ex-husband of six years.

She stressed that the ex-lovers had ‘moved on’.

Fast forward, and the rumour mill is rife with reports of a relationship between the celebrated actress and an executive chef who works at a popular high-end hotel in Nairobi.

According to Buzz Central, an online entertainment publication by seasoned entertainment journalist Cheptoek Boyo, Michael and Kate have been together for a year now.

The couple have been seen hanging out publicly together.

They were recently spotted attending comedian Terence creative Wash Wash 4 movie premiere. In November 2023, the couple were again seen together at an event put together by Sol Fest.

In June 2023, the two are said to have vacationed in Lamu Island where the actress was also attending the launch of Infinix phone as one of its influencers.

According to multiple sources who work at the hotel, and spoke to Nairobi News on condition of anonymity, the two have been together for a while.

“The public is getting to learn about this now, but their relationship has been going on for a while. Kate was a frequent visitor here before the affair got to the level it is now,” said the source.

Kate and Philip publicly announced the end of their six-year marriage on September 2023 stating they will now shift their focus to co-parenting.
