Internationally recognised Kenyan thespian Catherine Kamau Karanja, better known by her stage as Kate Actress, is ecstatic to have received a presidential award from the country’s fifth president.
The mother of two couldn’t remain composed as President William Ruto gave her the Order of the Grand Warrior on this year’s Jamuhuri Day, which is a national holiday commemorating Kenya’s independence from British colonisers, as the country celebrated its 60th birthday.
In any case, who would? Kate was giddy with joy as she shared pictures of herself wearing the award and praised God.
“CATHERINE KAMAU OGW ! (Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya )!” excitedly started the veteran actress.
She went on to add;
“HEAD OF STATE COMMENDATION from his excellency the president Dr. William Samoei Ruto. 🇰🇪 Won’t he do it 🥹🙏🏽,”
The O.G.W. award is given to people in honour of exceptional service they have provided to the nation in a variety of roles and abilities.
More significantly, it is an honour given to individuals who sacrifice their lives to save their fellow citizens.
Recipients of the Order of the Good Warrior are people who, by putting their nation before their own interests and sentiments, make a lasting impression on their fellow citizens.
