A Kenyan woman is out to set the Guinness Book of Records for the longest time teaching Science. Rose Tata Wekesa on her social media platforms announced her attempt in a viral message.
“The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step,” she begins in a video explaining her reasons.
“My name is Rose Tata Wekesa a teacher of Science. from Nairobi Kenya. I will be attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest science lesson by an individual,” she continues.
“In this attempt, I will be teaching science subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, for a minimum of 50 hours nonstop. I am doing this to inspire the world that Sciences are indeed doable. I am also doing this to display that teaching is a noble career and that teachers should be highly esteemed. This is a nonprofit-making venture.”
Rose became the second Kenyan to attempt the Guinness World Book Record, but now in a different category. The First was Chel Maliha Mohamed.
Nigerian Hilda Baci was confirmed in June by the Guinness World Record as the new holder for the much-coveted record after cooking for 100 hours straight.
Maliha then went on to claim the longest cooking marathon (individual) award after clocking 150 hours, 11 seconds, breaking the previous record of 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds set by Irishman Alan Fisher on November 7, 2023.
