Watch: Bensoul stuns fans at live concert with news that his had mom passed on
Benson Mutua Muia, popularly known as Bensoul to his fans, informed them at a concert last week that his mother Suzana had died.
The singer informed his fans that he was celebrating her life in a video that SPM Buzz managed to get.
"Rest in peace to my mama. She left us last week, but right here we are having a good time celebrating her," he told his fans in the middle of his performance.
He added;
"Her name is Suzana, so mnaimba Suzana with passion, au sio?"
Bensoul stated in a previous interview with The Trend that he could tell his songs were hits if his mother told him.
"I never talk to her about them or send her a link, if she finds out I have a new song out and its amazing, that's how I know that that was an amazing song."
On the reality series "Sol Family" on Sol Generations, Mama Bensoul debuted. She mentioned Bensoul's tuberculosis infection at one point.
"I didn't see the body, I only saw bones. I went crazy and I lwent to go look for doctors and at the time, they were on strike," she said.
Bensoul had given a background of his experience with the infection.
We wrote the song 'El Shaddai' in Rongai. This is after I had coughed for about a month and I wondered what the problem was.," he said.
"I went to test for HIV-Aids because I felt like I had all the symptoms. Sometimes you feel like life is ending but I tested negative.
"They found out it was TB and every single day, you eat food for like two people."
