Tragic deaths as two men electrocuted in separate incidents
At least two people were separately electrocuted in incidents reported to police.
Juja incident
The first incident happened when a 30-year-old man was electrocuted as he was moving a pipe at a farm he was working on in Juja, Kiambu County.
The man was moving a metallic water pipe when it touched a loosely hanging live electric wire on his farm.
He was killed instantly. Police with the Kenya Power officials were later called to help move the body to avoid another person being electrocuted while trying to help.
Police said the body was discovered minutes after the incident had happened and the body was moved to mortuary on Thursday evening.
Ruai
In Chokaa, Ruai area, one Samuel Wambua, 25 who was a caretaker of a residential house was electrocuted while wielding.
The body was moved from the scene to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police say such incidents have been on the rise in the past months.
This has been worsened by heavy rains being experienced in most parts of the country.
Officials blame illegal power connections for the trend.
Teacher dies by suicide
Police are investigating an incident in which a teacher at a school in Meru died by suicide.
The body of the teacher was found dangling from the roof of his house where he had hanged himself with a sisal rope.
The motive of the incident was not immediately established, police said.
An investigation into the tragedy is ongoing. Cases of suicide have been on the rise with societal pressure being blamed for the trend.
