TUKO.co.ke ran the story of how they went from being a stable family to a poor one while trying to save Sheba's life. The matronly woman has been to various hospitals, and she was told that she needed crucial surgery to help her walk again. "You covered my story so well last year and I received money from your audience. In May 2023, you covered it again when I was requesting well-wishers to help me build a house and raise KSh 500,000 for her treatment," Adolf recalled. "Now a lady in USA identified as Delvine Masongo decided to help mum get her surgery instead of building us a house. She started a GoFundMe campaign and raised KSh 330,000; she also tried to apply a medical grant in USA from an organization called Together Rising who approved another KSh 600, 000 for surgery. The KSh 930,000 has helped mum walk again," he continued. Sheba gets surgery at Coptic Hospital Sheba's hospital stay took five days, and she was discharged on October 10, 2023. She has been recovering at home with physiotherapy as she waits for her next follow-up appointment with the doctor. "During her stay at the hospital, her beautiful daughter Dolphine Kebati visited her a few times and spent some quality time. Also, four of her sisters visited her; they were happy moments," he said. Although Sheba is not where she is supposed to be, at least she is now walking after leaving Coptic Hospital in Nairobi. Adolfas's family is still homeless The family is now waiting for the mother to heal properly and then return to Kisii. Unfortunately, they still don't have a home. "I wish to thank TUKO.co.ke so much for helping me. Thank you and may almighty God bless you," said Adolfas. "We are forever grateful to the grant from Together Rising and to all of you for your support towards the family of Adolfas Simba because without your kindness, Mama Sheba and her family wouldn't be where they are today," he said.
