Award-winning singer and WCB President Diamond Platnumz has finally unveiled a new artiste signed under his record label WCB-Wasafi.
On Thursday night, Platnumz and his team officially unveiled singer and songwriter D-Voice Ginii as their signee.
D-Voice who is not new to the Bongo Flava industry has been introduced to the world complete with an Album dubbed "Swahili Kid”".
The 10-track album features Diamond Platnumz, Zuchu, Lava Lava, and Mbosso –all from WCB Wasafi.
The singer has been unveiled after a year plus of being coached and sharpened by the WCB team under Chibu Dangote’s leadership.
D-Voice has joined Zuchu, Lava Lava, Mbosso, and Queen Darleen at WCB Wasafi.
“Welcome to Wasafi Family @dvoice_ginnii #WCB4LIFE,” read a post from WCB Wasafi.
Before being picked by Platnumz, D-Voice was a fast-rising Singeli singer in Tanzania.
Singeli sometimes called Sengeli is a Tanzanian music genre that originated with the Zaramo in the Mtogole neighborhood of the Tandale ward in Kinondoni District of Dar es Salaam Region around the mid-2000s.
Singeli is a ngoma music and dance where an MC performs over fast-tempo taarab music.
The unveiling of D-Voice was graced by several government officials, musicians, music producers, media personalities, and music managers.
Speaking at the launch, Platnuzm showered the young kid with praises saying they have trusted him to take the WCB record label to the next level.
“Today we are introducing D-Voice Complete with an Album because we want people to listen to his amazing vocals and capabilities in music.
He is a singer who originated from Singeli and we agreed as WCBWasadi that we have already touched on many genres so it’s the right time to tap on Singeli,” Diamond said.
“ So I told him to be diverse and do all the genres of music despite his Singeli roots. So his album is a complete mix of everything,”
On his part, D-Voice expressed gratitude for joining the WCB family as their newest talent with a promise that he will not disappoint them.
“I thank God that today I’m being introduced as the new WCB Artiste, it’s a big thing. Thank you to God, my parents, and everyone who is here to support me,” D-Voice said.
