Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has shown his generosity by promising to sponsor a needy student who recently excelled in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). MP Babu Owino comes to the rescue of a poor KCPE candidate. The student, whose name has not been revealed, scored 350 marks out of 500 in the national exam, but his family could not afford to take him to a good secondary school. How did the needy kid earn Babu Owino’s scholarship? His cousin, who goes by @degrata on X, formerly Twitter, took to the microblogging platform to seek help from well-wishers.. He tweeted asking if anyone knew of scholarship programs that could assist his cousin. “I have a cousin who scored 350 marks in KCPE, but they are not in a position to take him to a good school. Do you know any scholarship programs which can help?” he wrote. His tweet caught the attention of Babu Owino, who is known for his outspokenness and activism. The MP replied to the tweet, telling the cousin to look for him so that he could help him. “Look for me I help you,” Babu wrote. His response was praised and admired by many X users, who commended him for his kindness and generosity. How did Babu Owino help needy bright Nandi orphan? As we previously told you, Nicklaus Kiprotich scored an impressive 424 in the KCPE examination and was called to Kapsabet Boys High School. However, the orphaned boy’s aunt, Nancy Jepkorir, could not afford his fees and appealed for help. Jepkorir shared Kiprotich’s story with TUKO.co.ke, and Babu offered to help him.
