The bodies of two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials who drowned after their vehicle was swept away by floods have been retrieved.
According to KRA Corporate Support Services Commissioner Nancy Ng’etich, this followed a multiagency operation.
“The Authority sends a message of condolence to family members, friends, relatives and colleagues,” she stated.
“The Authority wishes to thank and appreciate the multiagency team and the local community for the assistance in the search and rescue operation.”
The two were reportedly travelling to Mombasa from Lungalunga on Friday morning when the accident happened.
KRA Acting Southern Region Coordinator Lawrence Siele said the vehicle was swept by floods at Ramisi River after it over flooded the bridge.
In a Statement to newsrooms, Siele said the safety and well-being of KRA employees remains the their first priority and all machinery is being deployed for a positive outcome.
