Police Constable Collins Etyang, at around 9am on Tuesday, October 31, tried to leave the school without his rifle and the teachers were forced to beg him to carry it along. A police report seen by TUKO.co.ke indicated that he first declined to heed the teachers’ persuasion; it took a long moment of convincing when the officer finally agreed to carry his rifle. The officer would then disappear into the village as the KCPE examinations were ongoing. “The report was made to the police, and the sub-county examination surveillance team rushed to the school and found the officer missing; he was immediately replaced with another officer, and shortly the officer came back to the examination centre while very drunk,” the report indicated in part. The police took him out of the centre and took him to the Musoli Police Station, where he was disarmed and placed in cells while very drunk as corrective measures. According to the police report, disciplinary action now awaits him for leaving a place of duty without being properly relieved. He is also in trouble for being drunk while on duty at the examination centre. Nakuru police officer arrested for being drunk Similarly, a police officer assigned to Kimonio Primary School in the Marioshoni location to guard the ongoing KCPE and KPSEA exams was arrested after he was found drunk while the exams were going on. The centre manager, Elijah Biwott, reported the matter after he failed to see the officer within the premises. Due to the security lapse at the centre, the Molo Security team, in the company of OCS Marioshoni, rushed to the school and found the officer, Joshua Kimathi Milikau, sleeping in the teachers’ quarters while appearing drunk. He was immediately disarmed, and Richard Mburu was instructed to take over his duties during the English composition paper session.
