Sanaipei Tande reflects on being humiliated by a toxic ex-boyfriend
Back in 2004, Sanaipei Tande was launched into the music industry with high hopes of fame and making lots of money. At the time she was part of the musical group called SEMA.
Those hopes were quickly dashed. "Then the ridiculing began. She is nothing without SEMA. Yani Sanaipei ameishiwa mpaka imebidi aimbe kwa bars."
Cruel trolls called her washed out saying she was forced to sing with drunkards in bars to make a living. This hurt her so much.
She told this on the YouTube channel Engage Talk on October 12.
"I was 20. I was unfamiliar with the criticism that comes along with being this person." she was using PSVs and facing ridicule as well over her situation. "I was signing autographs in the mathree," she said.
Reflecting on dating in her 20s then, Sanaipei told of several humiliating incidences with a particular boyfriend.
"I was in a relationship with this man for the better part of my twenties. I could share so many incidences that just put me down and made me feel so low, so useless, so worn out, and just near endangered my life," she revealed.
She told how celebrities hide professional and personal problems because they are put on a pedestal where they are expected to live a perfect life.
"A celebrity is presumed to live a flashy lifestyle, glitz and glam and fancy cars. There's also a downside to being a celebrity. There's the falling, the failing, the making mistakes"
She recalled pushing a stalled car in public. "In full view of the clubs and the revellers as my dude tries to pump on the gas, I've been abandoned asleep at a dead-end road by the said dude because I confronted him about finding him in a situation, but it was my fault that's why I was left in the car. I just want to find mjengo guys there, the car keys, I'm like what is going on here?"
She said that he would party without her "The only reason I would know that he's been out is because I would get that slurred speech call at 5 a.m. with all declarations. I love you, I miss you, I can't wait to see you, please bring chicken wings,".
She called herself a good and understanding girlfriend
"So because Im a nice girl, I would get up, and do my chores early so I can take many matatus to go to my parent's home. It was a lot of mathrees, That's not the worst of it, I would hitch rides from their gardener on his black mamba and be chauffeured away to my persons home,"
Her dedication astounded her. Worse when she got to his house, he would not recall calling her with love confessions or demands for chicken.
"He would wake up in a panic, why are you here? Don't, feel woiyee for me. I did it very many times. but you know love is a beautiful thing, and when you are in your 20s love is everything, but I had hoped this guy would see me, he would treat me like the queen I'm being told I am out there"
He remains her good friend to date "We still talk, coz he's cool peoples like that," BY MPASHO NEWS
