Sabina Chege: I got married before joining university

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has opened up about her earlier life before joining politics.

Speaking during an interview with TV 47 show dubbed Wabebe Experience, the last born in a family of nine said she came to Nairobi after clearing her Form 4.

"One day, I watched the Tausi show on KBC because I was very interested. Back in high school, I joined drama. So one day, I walked to KBC and said I wanted to see 'Tausi' people. I said I was acting in school and I was interested," she said.

"I was picked and I replaced a character called Rehema. So I acted before I joined the university."

Recalling her journey, Sabina also said she used to drive a matatu when pregnant and even got married before joining campus.

"When I was pregnant I would drive matatu, napiga squad Dagoretti. (I used to do a few matatu rounds in Dagoretti)," the politician said.

On getting married before campus, the politician said that was her first boyfriend and relationship.

"By the way, I got married before I joined university. On that Monday I was supposed to join university, I gave birth on Sunday," Sabina said.

She said she had not known the guy for a long time

"I was very bold. I think I felt the need to get married because ‘I was too Christian’. I thought that when you are in a relationship you must get married but I did not get married because I was pregnant."   BY THE STAR
