Ruto calls for fair profiling of Africa’s investment potential
President William Ruto has called for proper and fair profiling of Africa’s investment potential.
Speaking when he presented Africa’s Climate-Positive Growth Agenda during the Future Investment Initiative Conference held at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, President Ruto dismissed the notion of risk that has hindered investment and growth across the continent.
“The continent is not risky; that assessment is erroneous and is impeding investment and growth across,” he stated.
Ruto said Africa has incomparable resources and potential particularly in renewable energy and human capital.
“Any investment without Africa on the table is deficient,” he said.
During the conference, President Ruto held talks with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman, who pledged to support increased investments in Kenya’s renewable energy sector.
Saudi Arabia also committed to intervening and helping to resolve conflicts in the region to contribute to the continent’s stability.
The conference brought together world leaders, investors, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, entrepreneurs, policymakers, among others
