Police launch investigations after 59-year-old man dies while with 23-year-old girlfriend in Kitengela

 

Detectives are investigating the sudden death of a 59-year-old man who was found dead inside his alleged girlfriend's house along Balozi Road in Kitengela, Kajiado county. 

In the incident confirmed by Isinya Sub-county police commander Patrick Manyasi, the man who has since been positively identified, was in the company of the 23-year-old lady when the incident occurred.

Neighbours, while claiming that the two were romantically involved, noted that the man who ordinarily visits the lady during the day and leaves in the evening was seen at the apartment on Wednesday, October 17, 2023, at noon.

The neighbours informed the police that they were alarmed by cries from the lady at around 5 pm.

"We know the man very well. We normally see him frequently with the lady. He comes and they spend time indoors," a neighbour said. 

The lady is said to have called the deceased’s friend to assist her in taking him to the hospital as he had developed health complications.

On his part, Manyasi who noted that the identities of the two were confirmed by their national identity cards, said the lady has since recorded a statement with the police and investigations into the incident have been launched. 

"We cannot speculate the cause of the sudden death. According to the lady she was with, he developed some health complications. A postmortem will give us a clue as to what may have led to his death," Manyasi said.

The police commander has since urged members of the public to avert speculations and stop taking the law into their own hands in any matter. 

"Members of the public should embrace following the rule of law. Unfounded speculations can lead to deadly mass action," he added. 

The body was moved to the Kitengela Sub-county hospital morgue.   BY K24 NEWS
