Pastor Ezekiel Odero Warns People Against Celebrating Birthdays: "Hautawahi Nisikia"

The preacher believes birthdays should only be celebrated when people have tangible achievements. Is it ungodly to celebrate your birthday? In a trending video captured during a sermon at his church, Ezekiel argued that birthdays should reflect a person's accomplishments rather than a mere yearly ritual. "Do not celebrate your birthday if you have done nothing. Wait until you have achieved something, then we can celebrate your birthday," Pastor Odero stated. The man of God revealed that he had never celebrated his birthday and vowed never to do so in his entire life. Instead, he believed that the next generation would celebrate him when he eventually passed away, provided he lived a life of great significance. He also drew a parallel to the celebrations of the birth and death of Jesus Christ. "That is why we celebrate the birth and the death of Jesus Christ. Have you ever heard me celebrating my birthday? You won't hear me. Those who will come after me will be the ones to decide whether I lived a great life worth celebrating or not. There is no soldier who celebrates his birthday because, in the wilderness, there is a real fight," he continued. The Kilifi-based preacher also questioned the practice of pastors celebrating their birthdays, wondering where they find the time for such festivities. He argued that Christmas celebrations should be left to kids, as adults should work that day. "Be a mature person. Feed the children, but feed the spirit. Ask yourself, I have been to this celebration all these years; how has this celebration changed my life? When you spend time celebrating some people are working and they will achieve more," Ezekiel said in a video captured at his church.   BY TUKO NEWS
