Nzioka Waita Recounts His Struggles In Quest to Become Machakos Governor: "I Met Magicians"

Source: Youtube While featuring in an Engage Talk episode, Nzioka shared how difficult it was to navigate politics as a first-timer coming from the cool confines of power. He said he engaged all cadres of people as he strived to succeed Governor Alfred Mutua, whose second and last term was coming to an end. READ ALSO 3 People Killed, 54 Others Injured in Grisly Eldoret - Nakuru Highway Accident Waita recalled visiting ladies of the night, clerics, and even magicians whose undertakings he identified with the Kamba community.  While giving up his state house job in February last year, Waita said he would be the best bet for Machakos county residents given his wide network and a wealth of experience from the public service. "Many people have come forward and pressured me to bolt out of the race in favour of some local MPs. I want everyone, from the old and the young to standby, I will come, we discuss how we can make this great county better," he stated. He further divulged that he would support Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga's presidential aspirations even as he planned to hit the ground running. Azimio La Umoja is for every Kenyan, and I urge Ukambani residents not to be left behind," he added. The contest would later come, and Wavinya Ndeti would take the lead in the governorship race. Waita of the Chama Cha Uzalendo (UCC) party, took to his social media to concede defeat despite alleging irregularities in the electoral process. The politician also took the chance to congratulate Wavinya for winning the race. "I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate our incoming Governor for the County of Machakos Hon. Wavinya Ndeti.I wish her & her team every success as she takes over the reigns of county 016." he said on Twitter then. BY TUKO NEWS
