Nairobi Mum of 5 Recalls Leaving Behind 9-Month-Old Baby to Go to Saudi Arabia

 

Anne Mumbi Kuria, who had had an agonising love life, recalled sacrificing for her kids and helpless brother. Jobs in Qatar, not Saudi The mother of five whose kids have different fathers said she made a tough decision to leave behind her kids in search of greener pastures. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mumbi, who described her lovers as deadbeat dads, was forced to go to Saudi Arabia for work. "Then I heard people were applying for passports. I called my friends and told them there were jobs in Qatar, not Saudi, so we applied for the passports. They were out in one week. My friends said that they would not go if I were not going. My second child was nine months old. I said that I would go," she narrated. Why Nairobi woman traveled to Gulf Mumbi explained to the agent she would go to the Gulf but had a nine-month-old child and two other kids, with one joining school. The agent gave her some money, which she invested in another lady's business caring for Mumbi's children, did shopping and paid months rent. "I was there so that I could at least afford to pay my brother's high school fees," she said, noting she wanted to help her brother complete his education. I was not stressed, Mumbi The Nairobi woman said explaining her situation to her agent made her experience in Sadi Arabia bearable as she would keep in touch with her kid. "I was not stressed over that. There is God. It is God who protects us every moment. I explained my situation to my employers so they would buy me airtime to call my child's guardian daily. I would not go for two days without calling her," she noted. Kisii mum travels to Saudi Arabia In another story, a Kisii family was in agony as their daughter, who left for work in Saudi Arabia, could not be reached on the phone. According to Brian Nyakundi, Veronicah Nymisa decided to go to Saudi Arabia for work, leaving her small child with her parents due to their challenging circumstances.
