Machogu Unveils Educational Initiatives In Mandera
Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu on Tuesday embarked on an education and inaugurated Mandera Teachers’ Training College (MTTC) and Mandera Technical Training Institute (MTTI) alongside the launch of the Mandera County Education Task Force Report.
During the groundbreaking ceremony at the teachers’ training college, Machogu not only initiated the construction but also gave Sh30 million from the government for the expansion of Mandera Teachers’ Training College, facilitating the construction of additional dormitories.
He pledged to address the teacher shortage by hiring more educators, emphasizing the importance of dedicated efforts from both teachers and students to ensure excellent educational outcomes.
Additionally, CS Machogu flagged off a school feeding programme benefiting over 500 primary schools and aimed at enhancing enrolment rates and academic performance in the border county.
He announced the ministry’s anticipation of increased funding from various development partners to further enhance the educational system.
Assuring the region, the Cabinet Secretary stated that teacher shortages in these areas would soon be resolved.
Machogu further unveiled the Mandera County Education Task Force Report, which will address the existing gaps in the education sector and leverage available opportunities for performance improvement and enhanced livelihoods in the region.
Mandera Governor Mohamed Khalif called upon education stakeholders to increase investments in the sector, aligning with his vision of providing quality education to the citizens. BY KNA
