Today on Classic105, the dynamic pair of Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i had a stimulating morning discussion about KCPE and the stress associated with taking the national exam.
The day’s question was: How did your performance on the KCPE examinations go? Were you prepared for them?
The KCPE candidates who began their exams this morning and the knowledge that this will be the final batch of KCPE candidates in Kenya served as the impetus for the discourse.
Maina: This will be the last 844 system and we’ve all been through it. Let’s go down memory lane, what did you get and were you prepared for the exam?
Mwalimu King’ang’i: Vitu zingine tulikuwa tunafunzwa za nini? Sasa parts of a flower zimenisaidia aje? They should teach people how to save and make money.
The duo urged their listeners to contribute to the question of the day and they didn’t disappoint. Callers were quick to share their views and this is what they had to say.
The first caller said;
“Mimi nilipata 250 lakini kucram ile nilikuwa nimecram siezi amini ilikuwa mimi. I wish all the candidates in my former primary school success in their exams wasitense mtihani ni rahisi tutakubali matokeo yote.”
The next caller said;
“Wengine wetu tulipita juu ya kuona viboiko zile zilikuwa zinatembea. unaona vile mtu anapigwa juu ya kupata 98 unafikiria ukipata 80 utafanywa nini? Unaambiwa ucram vitu za capital city za sijui country gani na haitakusaidia. Shule nilikuwa ulikuwa unaekea goals kama wewe umezoea kuwa number one lazima ukuwe na 100 ukipata less than that unachapwa viboko kumi. Sisi ule mtu alikuwa nyumber last shule ndio amemake it more than us sisi tukikimbiza degree yeye akona matatu 30 kwa barabara anakula pesa. Watoto wasisukumwe wapate kenye watapata , I wish all the students in my former primary school success in their exams.”
Another caller said;
“I came from a very poor background when I was revising my younger brother alikuwa anashika kuni anapuliza piuliza ndio nieze kurevise nilipita KCPe nikaenda secondary nikatoka na a B plain sai i am a personal assssistant to a politician.
