A mother from Uasin Gishu County has shed tears after learning about the death of her young son, who was a Class Eight candidate. The family of Evans struggled to come to terms with his death. As other Class Eight learners prepare to start their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations, the families of five pupils from Arap Moi Primary School are devastated following the deaths of their children in a park. Speaking to Citizen TV, the family of one of the deceased pupils, Evans Kiplimo, could not control their pain as they came to terms with his death. “I feel so much pain because my child worked so hard, but now I have lost him. He was my only hope,” the deceased boy’s mother cried. Family calls for justice Kiplimo’s aunt, who could not hold back her tears, called for justice, saying the family needed a sufficient explanation of how their son met his death. Kiplimo and his classmates were on a fun boat ride in the Amusement Park in Ainabkoi when they drowned in a man-made dam. Staff at the park claimed the pupils sneaked on their own to access the prohibited area when they met their deaths. “They sneaked and accessed the prohibited area,” Beatrice Chepchirchir, from the Amuzement Park, said. Death of pupils As reported, the five candidates were swimming at Amuzement Park on Saturday, October 28, when tragedy struck, just two days before the commencement of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams.
