Faith Adongo Owino succumbed to her injuries following a suspected knife attack at around 7:30 pm on Friday, October 20. Faith was reportedly stabbed multiple times by her assailants along the now-notorious Misufuni road while returning home. She was rushed to Kilifi District Hospital’s Emergency wing, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 10 pm. According to an appeal for blood posted by Pwani University Student Association chairman Nashon Okoth, Faith lost a lot of blood in the attack. “Good evening, comrades. Following the proceedings of the stabbed comrades. We are appealing to anyone with blood group A+ to reach the Kilifi District emergency wing so that we can save her life,” read the appeal. Student dies days after admission In a separate incident, investigators were investigating the mysterious death of a Daystar University student. Mercy Cherono reportedly met her end four days after her admission into the institution in Athi River. She had conversed with her parents on the night she died. Cherono, in her conversation with her mother, expressed her excitement as she attended the fresher’s party at the university. : “We Need Cooperation” The mother would then receive a call at dawn asking her to go to the campus without any explanation. She started her journey, but she would be asked to branch to a hospital in Kitengela on her way. It dawned on her a few moments later that her child had succumbed to stab injuries. Baraton University student dies Elsewhere, a family in Kakamega was thrown into mourning following the sudden death of their kin. Agesa Grace Michelle died on Thursday, June 22, in a grisly road accident involving a boda boda she was riding on. Until her death, the young lady was a Third Year student at the Eldoret-based University of Eastern Africa Baraton.
