A granny living in Murang’a County is appealing to President William Ruto to fulfil a promise he made to her.
Speaking to a local TV station, the granny, identified as Margaret Njambi, claimed that the president had promised her two cows, a pregnant one and one with a child.
She went on to claim that despite the president making his promise, the cows are yet to get to her. The old lady wondered whether the matter fell short because of the president or the messengers sent to deliver the promise.
“President Ruto you told me you were going to give me two pregnant cows, one with a child and one being pregnant but the cows have never reached me I am still waiting because the ones who know about the cows are still on the way,(SIC)” the old lady said.
“I don’t know why they are still on the way, what I know is that they might even bring them to me but I want you to know that the cows didn’t reach me. I don’t know if the problem is with those who were sent or Ruto. I want the cows to reach me,” she added.
The old woman also lauded the president for his ‘continuous’ efforts in delivering on his mandated duties to Kenyans
“This time we are congratulating you for what you are doing, for what we are seeing going on because fertiliser is Ksh 2,500. You are doing so many things and we are waiting to see where Kenya will go,(SIC)” the granny added.
Netizens have responded to the clip by tagging the president accusing him of making empty promises, others urged the old lady to forget and assume that the president was only joking about the matter.
Below are some of the reactions;
“Waahh😂😂😂 that’s really wonderful, president Ruto go n meet that granny, she’s soo anxious to meet you,” an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as Empty Coffers wrote.
Another user identified as Okal Jacob wrote: “@WilliamsRuto bana u r sp shameless, false promises even to old chaps,”
Despite the mixed reactions, the president is yet to respond over the matter. BY KNA
