There were questions about his motives because the photo on his X platform, which was originally Twitter, had no caption.

One of the songs is titled Mwathani wakwa njakaniria tawa, a loose translation of which is, “Turn on the lights for me my Lord,” and was written by John Murage and Gicheha wa Ngugi.

The song goes:

1. My God, turn on the lights for me, I have been followed behind by great darkness. Before me, the shadows seem like stones, where my enemies wait for me.

I ask you to send angels, when I get there I find them sleeping, so I don’t have sorrow in my heart.

2. This house of yours that you built with problems, it is surrounded by killers

Whereas you built it to maintain justice, you always speak the word and you win.

You fought a hard battle, the earthly kings feared you, and even the devil fears you.

3. No bravery is greater than yours, no courage is greater than yours.

I lack fear knowing well, that I follow a brave warrior. Even if good things or bad ones come, I’ll be holding the good and overcoming the bad, I then be going on my knees to say thank you.

4. When I got there I found witnesses, and I became one of the witnesses.

When I met the elders I became an elder, when I met children, I became a child.

If it can be dark, I know that’s not your will, that is the will of the evil one.

5. I came to your place and you showed me the border that surrounded you at home and then you showed me the rules, which govern your home.

So that I never sin, because you said any sinner, that is the child of the bad one.

6. When this journey comes to an end, I know very well that I will be very happy.

My eyes will see, what I was told I will see for myself.

All the promises will be fulfilled, the promises of the righteous so live in peace, while their hearts are at rest.

The second song is Ihinda Riakinya by Elijah Miller, about when the moment comes.

1. God is mighty and he fulfils the promises that he made, he does not see mountains or darkness to block him when coming to fulfil.

When the moment comes, God will make all things right, there will be nothing, no one or anything that will prevent him to come and bless you.

2. You have suffered a lot till you have been nicknamed by the people of your area, but what God has kept for you, even when people hate you, he will give you.

3. You have tried so many things but nothing works? You started hating yourself and humiliating yourself, you lack hope.

4. You who see like you came to this world by mistake because of extreme problems, but remember how Jacob had suffered but he still got blessed.

5. It is better to trust God and to wait for him even if problems escalate, those who trust in him and wait for him, he never disappoints them.

6. Utilize the talent that God has granted you, even when things get tough, he blesses those who put in much effort in their work.

The third song is Wi Ngai Mahinda mothe (You are God all the times), by Paul Waiganjo

1. Your Deeds Oh Lord Amaze me, Your righteous ways and great faithfulness. You always do me wonders, And you charge me nothing. I desire to emulate and be like you.

You are God all the time, that is what I know, My strong tower that I            look upon. I give my heart to you as a holy sacrifice, I wait upon you,        the Lamb of God.

2. You have never abandoned nor forsaken me, You do me great things because you love me. When I sin against you, you forgive and forget, I desire to emulate and be like you.

3. You do not count my sins that I did in the past. When I pray, you always forgive me. You cleanse me, I become fully cleansed and acceptable to you, I desire to emulate and be like you

4. You revealed to me all your secrets, So that I know you better, You defend me from all troubles and storms, and all difficulties and sufferings, are far away from me I desire to emulate and be like you.     BY CLASSIC 105
