William Ruto Revisits Gachagua's Struggle with English during Investors' Meeting: "Nilisumbuka Sana"

President Ruto disclosed that Gachagua kept asking for interpretation every time foreigners who attended the event spoke. "I could not sit in peace because as the foreigners were talking, Gachagua kept asking me to interpret what they were saying. I helped and explained," Ruto said. The head of state said he could not believe it when the second in command spoke fluent English when it was his chance to address Kenyans. "When it was his chance to speak, he spoke the same English he was asking me to interpret, leaving me wondering whether he was joking," the president said. Gachagua has been on record confessing that he is poorly educated and dislikes speaking too much English. In December 2022, during the launch of the National Police Service Leadership Academy in Ngong, Kajiado county, Gachagua asked his boss to consider his request to further his studies as the workload at his office lessened. "Your Excellency, I am a man with little education. Please allow me to further my studies once the workload in the office lessens," he pleaded. He hilariously confessed that sometimes he encounters challenges during important meetings where some of his colleagues are more educated. "From the work I have been given by my boss, my education is a little bit low. I have one degree, yet my boss has three degrees and another senior colleague is a Professor. Sometimes in meetings, I get overwhelmed," he said. Gachagua has a Political Science and Literature degree from the University of Nairobi. He graduated in 1988. BY TUKO NEWS
