PPB calls on quarantine of infringed visipaque products
The Pharmacy and Poison Board (PPB) has issued a directive on quarantining of visipaque products to safeguard public health and safety.
In a statement released by the PPB, the board stated that following several complaints they had received regarding quality defects and falsified batches of Visipaque, they called on healthcare facilities to immediately quarantine the batches.
"We have initiated preliminary investigations, which revealed that the affected product batches had infiltrated the market illegally having been imported and distributed through unauthorized and illegal supply chains, " the statement said.
The board further cautioned the public against engaging in any form of trade distribution, wholesale retail, issuance, dispensing, or use of the products due to the serious health risks it poses.
"Any person found handling or distributing these products will be subject to legal actions," the statement stated.
The PPB also called on members of the public to report any suspected substandard and falsified products to the PPB using their channels. BY THE STAR
