NTV ranked among the top most-watched TV stations in Kenya

 

A recent survey conducted by Geopoll, spanning from September 3rd to September 9th, 2023, has unveiled the top 15 TV stations in Kenya.

Citizen TV, part of Royal Media Services, stands tall at the summit, securing the number one spot with an impressive audience of over 22 million viewers.

NTV, owned by the Nation Media Group, is closely behind and boasts a substantial viewership of over 10 million people.

The channel has been instrumental in broadcasting numerous significant events in recent times.

NTV is home to a roster of accomplished media figures, including Joe Ageyo, Oliver Mathenge, Ben Kitili, Bernard Ndong’, and Fridah Mwaka.

The report further highlights that NTV maintains its position as the second most-watched news channel, closely following Citizen TV in popularity.

KTN and KTN News, both under the Standard Group umbrella, claim the third and fourth positions, amassing a combined audience of over 9 million individuals. Maisha Magic East rounds out the top five on this esteemed list.

A notable addition to the upper positions of Kenyan television is TV47, the country’s newest and fastest-growing TV station, owned by Cape Media.

Remarkably, the station has secured the sixth position on the list of the top 15 TV stations.

This achievement coincides with TV47’s five-year anniversary in the media industry and follows a recent overhaul of its newsroom.

TV47 has recently welcomed several prominent personalities, including Fred Indumuli, Willis Raburu, Grace Kuria, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, among others.

The remaining stations in the top 15 TV stations in Kenya, according to the Geopoll survey, are as follows:

  • Supersport at number 7.
  • K24 at number 8.
  • KBC at number 9.
  • Triple P at number 10.
  • Inooro TV at number 11.
  • Akili Kids at number 12.
  • UTV at number 13.
  • Ramogi TV at number 14.
