Kenyans have hilariously taken to social media to share screenshots of their M-Pesa messages, whose codes were seemingly spooky to many Kenyans on Monday, September 25. Kenyans reacted with funny messages over Monday's M-Pesa codes. Photo: Photo: Poa Internet. Source: UGC M-Pesa Messages and their codes Hawk-eyed Kenyans began sharing on early Monday, that M-Pesa messages were starting with RIP, which is also the popular acronym that many use at funerals. Many shared screenshots of their M-Pesa messages for Monday and wondered why the code felt eerie, with others commenting with funny reactions. Here are some of the comments: Popular blogger Gordon Opiyo wondered why Safaricom could not skip some bizarre codes because some, like the RIP, were quite eye-brow-raising. "Safaricom Mpesa should have a system of jumping over some Codes that are not good. The whole day, the Safaricom Mpesa code has been at RIP. Surely, what do you imagine when you get a message, 'confirmed RIP'," he said. Caroline Wacuka said: "So I am not alone in this? I have been wondering the same." Miriam Gakori "I noted this, and it looked funny to me." Mirrie Hyme said: "I'm just done with Safaricom. They are sending Rest in Peace messages for every M-Pesa transaction. they're like RIP.... confirmed you have sent/received... I can't do this anymore." Generally Kaberia said: "Imagine nimeshangaa mimi! Washindwe katika jina la Yesu." However, this should not be a concern as the codes of M-Pesa messages are automated, following a particular alphabetical pattern. Safaricom increases daily limit for M-Pesa In other news, Safaricom customers who make bulk transactions per day received reason to smile after the telco announced progressive changes made to M-Pesa on Monday, August 14. M-Pesa users were able to make transactions adding up to KSh 500,000 per day courtesy of the higher account limit. Initially, mobile money account limits for M-Pesa users were capped at a maximum of KSh 300,000 per day, limiting several users that desired to transact with more amounts per day. BY TUKO NEWS
