What did DCI say about the CCTV footage? In the early morning of Friday, September 15, Maigo was found murdered in his house at Woodley Estate, Nairobi county, after neighbours reported to police of unsuspicious activities at the house. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) later released footage of what was believed to be the main suspect in Maigo’s murder escaping from the gruesome murder. While releasing the images of the suspect, DCI said CCTV footage captured the woman dressed in a red chequered shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants leaving the victim’s house. “The suspect who was captured leaving the victim’s residence at Woodley Annex -Upper is believed to have been involved in the murder most foul before escaping through the back door,” DCI said. Why did the two women not raise an alarm? However, it is now emerging that the house the suspect was seen jumping from is not Maigo’s house, even though they are in the same estate. According to CCTV cameras, the suspect spent 23 minutes in the compound without raising alarm among two women who were seen staring at her. What remains to be unravelled by the DCI is how the woman escaped from Maigo’s house and if there is CCTV footage showing her running.  Maigo murder case: What the suspect’s mother said In another related development, the mother of a suspect linked to the murder of The Nairobi Hospital Finance Director finally broke her silence. Speaking to NTV, the teenager’s mother said her daughter was at their Kibra home well past 11pm on the night Maigo was murdered. According to the suspect’s mother, on the night of Thursday, September 14, she quarrelled with her daughter over food. She explained that her daughter did not eat food with other family members that fateful night. The mother said after eating supper, she proceeded to her bedroom to sleep while the daughter took the mattress to sleep in another room. “I told her I would have punished her because she was silent despite me asking her questions. I told her to sit outside until I finished preparing food. After we ate supper, she came in and took her mattress and I knew she was sleeping because she had closed the door,” the mother recalled.  How did the mother learn that her daughter was missing According to the mother, she was informed in the morning by her younger children that their sister was missing. “I was surprised in the morning when the children told me she was not in the house. I wondered where she would have gone early in the morning,” she added. Strangely, the same morning she discovered her daughter was missing, CCTV cameras captured her escaping from a scene where Maigo had been stabbed 25 times.    BY TUKO NEWS
