Alexander Ezenagu: William Ruto’s Son-In-Law Lands Lucrative Job at Strathmore University

Ezenagu, the husband of Ruto’s firstborn daughter, June, shared the news via LinkedIn on Wednesday, September 20. What are Alexander Ezenagu’s credentials? Ezenagu founded Sapient Consulting Group Limited with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and DRC Congo.  He previously worked as an assistant taxation and commercial law professor at Qatar’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University.  Ezenagu obtained his LLB degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Ezenagu worked as a lawyer in Nigeria between 2011- 2015. He then attended the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, obtaining an LLM in commercial law. Ezenagu is an expert in international law, trade, investment, and tax and did consultancy and works with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the United Nations Development Programme, among other international organisations. What is Alexander Ezenagu’s new job? Ezenagu announced he will be the first director of the recently launched African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) Policy and Development Centre at the Strathmore University Business. “Ezenagu is a distinguished scholar with a wealth of experience that spans academia, legal practice, and research. The AfCFTA Policy Centre aims to address the unique trade challenges and opportunities facing Africa by conducting cutting-edge research, facilitating knowledge dissemination, and offering capacity-building programs,” Strathmore wrote.  According to the scholar, he was also appointed as a senior research fellow at the institution. ‘’I am thrilled to join Strathmore University and lead the AfCFTA Policy Centre in its mission to promote economic integration in Africa. The AfCFTA represents a historic opportunity for the continent, and I am committed to leveraging our expertise to support its successful implementation,” he wrote. Ezenagu is set to give a lecture at the prestigious Harvard Law School on Tuesday, September 26.   BY TUKO NEWS
