Ezra Chiloba, the CA’s director general, has been placed on administrative leave by board chairperson Mary Mungai and replaced in an acting capacity by Christopher Wambua.
This was revealed in a memo that was issued yesterday evening
“Following a meeting of the Authority’s Board held on 18th September 2023, resulting in the suspension of the Director General, I am pleased to inform all staff of the appointment of Mr Christopher Wambua as a Director General in Acting Capacity effective today until further notice. I trust that you will accord him the necessary support,” Mungai said.
He was appointed to the docket two years prior to the suspension following Francis Wangusi’s retirement in 2021 with his appointment letter stating that Chiloba would hold the job for a 4-year term that might be renewed.
The surprising way that Chiloba has been suspended has stunned many Kenyans who can’t understand what had happened behind the scenes that had caused the suspension.
