Caleb Odanga, the 7-year-old Grade One pupil at Greens Angels Academy who fell from a merry-go-round swing while on a school trip, has died.
He passed on Friday after staying on a life support machine in hospital for three weeks.
The young boy was hospitalized following an accident that occurred at Destiny Gardens in Ruiru, during a school trip.
He fell off a Merry-go-round swing and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH).
Doctors had earlier advised the family to switch off machines and allow the boy to die as there would be no way to reverse the damage done after the fall.
Eulogizing his son Peter Odanga, said a golden heart had stopped.
He also took to his socials asking God to grant him strength during these hard times.
“A golden heart stopped beating. It’s such immense grief for the family and we do not know how to cope from here.”
Caleb’s mum Caroline Maina Odanga expressed her grief saying
“Since the 8th of August, I have been camping at the hospital,
It has been hard on me as Caleb is my only child. I loved him a lot.”
The family has a bill of 1.5 million shillings and is appealing for help from Kenyans to offset the same. BY MPASHO NEWS
