The Roho Israel Church has a reputation for its vibrant and expressive worship practices, with peculiar and eye-catching spectacles that often leave many amused. Spiritual cleansing in progress In the video shared by Switch Media, it is the manner in which they threw themselves around and fell into a nearby pool of water that caught the attention of many social media users. From the manner in which the congregants tumbled into the water, it was evident that they were participating in some form of spiritual cleansing through immersion. It could be argued that the act symbolised the casting off their burdens and sins, allowing the water to purify their souls. The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, attracting a host of reactions from a wide range of netizens. Public reactions Many of those who watched the video were of the opinion that the church has taken devotion to another level. Others defended the church’s practices, highlighting the existence of the freedom of expression which includes allowing religious diversity. Nancy Micheni: “Nakumbuka kuna mama alikuwa next to me alipigwa kofi. Wuueeh, ilibidi nitoke niende washroom.” Dorine Omondi: “I remember I once went to that kind of a church in the village. Imagine they were pulling off my hair saying that am possessed. Davin Onduko “God ain’t impressed at all, and besides, they are forgetting that cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Sam Orege: “Nimeona mwingine hapo wa red, white on black trouser aki summersault kama zile ndege za jeshi.” Prophet Kakande’s healing fruits In Uganda, Prophet Samuel Kakande recently introduced an innovative method to bestowing blessings upon members of his congregation. The clergyman was seen tossing oranges towards his followers as a symbol of making them bear fruits. In a remarkable incident, one of the congregation members was overcome by emotions and spun out of control soon as he caught the thrown orange. BY TUKO NEWS
