Musalia Mudavadi Rubbishes Claims William Ruto Is Setting Country in Campaign Mood: "Anawahemesha"
Mudavadi said those claiming the president was on a campaign mission were scared of his workaholic traits and the passion he has for development and economic growth of the country. Speaking in Bungoma on Sunday, August 27, the prime CS said Ruto's critics were struggling to catch up with his pace and have resorted to peddling lies and propaganda ostensibly to mislead the public about what the president is doing. "People saying you have placed the country in an election mood are shocked because they thought you would be careless. They are running and can't believe the pace you have set. It is a different pace, but we must move together," Mudavadi said. He lauded the president for touring different parts of the country to launch different projects and interact with Kenyans. "You are our leader. You have toured the region and are continuing to visit others," he said. The former vice president urged opposition leaders to shun their hardline political stance and work with the government for the benefit of all Kenyans. Mudavadi's sentiments were echoed by Deputy President Rigahi Gachagua who urged the head of state to carry on with the development and meet-the-people trips. Gachagua asked those pissed off by Ruto's countrywide forays to brace for more, adding that the president's team had just started. "They are crying because they know when we are in office they have an opportunity to use the media to mislead the public. But you know the president is a hands-on leader, he was just settling down. Now to ensure they don't mislead the public, we must come out and meet the people. And they have seen nothing, we have just started. This is just a warm-up. We will be everywhere," said Gachagua.
