Migori Lovebirds Using Forest As Green Lodge Put On Notice

Lovebirds that have turned a small natural forest located in Girango area, Migori County into a green lodge have been put on notice by local authorities.

Led by Suna-Oruba location Chief Charles Ouma, the authorities launched a crackdown at the forest on Saturday, where several lover birds escaped their dragnet narrowly.

Ouma said they will continue with the crackdown in a bid to arrest the people who have turned the forest, located less than one kilometer from Migori town, into green lodge.

Ouma said the forest exists within homesteads and such indecent acts are portraying the whole community in bad light.

He said they have noted that minors and even the married adults have been hiding in the forest and engage in indecent acts.

The area chief said they will not allow people to turn the forest into a lodging, adding that whoever will be found in the forest will be arrested and charged in court.

Ouma said a similar behaviour used to happen at Kamarianga forest, but they managed to deal with the situation.

He said anyone found hiding in any of the forests in the region will be subjected to necessary action. He appealed to the members of the public to support the security officers in the crackdown.    BY CITIZEN DIGITAL
