KUCCPS extends application deadline to switch universities
The Kenya Universities and College Placement Service has extended the deadline for application of inter-institution transfers in Universities.
In a notice, the placement service extended the deadline to August 18, 2023.
Students now have until Friday to change or transfer institutions which they may not be satisfied with.
KUCCPS noted that the changes resulted in challenges experienced while making M-Pesa payments.
"The KUCCPS M-Pesa Paybill option has been restored. The application for inter-institutional transfers has been extended to Friday, August 18, 2023, to make up for the brief interruption," reads the notice.
Initially, the deadline for application was August 15.
Students who wish to apply have been urged to make their applications on the KUCCPS student portal; http://students.kuccps.net.
Applicants will be charged an application-processing fee of Sh 1,000 per application.
For one to be eligible for transfer, the applicant must have been placed in the programme they are seeking a transfer from.
In addition, the programme applied to must have been on offer in the year the applicant was placed.
"One will only be able to apply to transfer to a course whose minimum requirements one meets," reads the notice.
"Applicants to degree programmes must meet the applicable cut-off point for their respective placement year."
Further, an applicant may only apply to transfer to one programme and shall only transfer once for the duration of the programme placed. BY THE STAR
