Ichung’wah named the 4-member team on Friday as a followup to an inaugural meeting held at Nairobi’s Bomas of Kneya on Wednesday.

The National Assembly Majority Leader said the technical team will include Muthoni Thiankolu, Linda Musumba, Nick Biketi and Duncan Ojwang.

During Wednesday’s inaugural meeting, the Kalonzo Musyoka-led Azimio dialogue commitee co-opted additional members to support its five-member team.

The technical teams are mandated to examine legal aspects of the talks anchored on finding a common ground to end anti-government protests by Azimio.

Ichung’wah said the technical team had the requisite expertise adding it is equal to the task ahead.

“This team will play a pivotal role in supporting our delegation throughout the ongoing dialogue engagement. Their expertise will be of high value in shaping the conversation,” he said.

“Kenya Kwanza remains firmly committed to open and productive dialogue and reaffirms that we will engage in the talks with utmost good faith and firm commitment to our Constitution and the Laws of Kenya,” he added.

Azimio’s technical team is led by beleaguered Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni. Other members include Adams Oloo, roots party leader George Wajackoyah and ex-governor Mwangi Wa Iria.

The opposition committed to the fresh round of talks saying “we believe that this country deserves peace not paralysis”.
