Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi has claimed many leaders are never serious about Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga becoming President.
Elachi said even after losing the elections, they always know Raila will come out to fight for a while then quit.
The MP spoke during an interview with K24 on Thursday.
“Baba knows we play on him and he is aware that most of the time we are not serious about him becoming the president. We just use him for us to get our positions and after that we are done,” she said.
“At the moment he is on dialogue and that is it, we are finished.“
The MP further added that by Raila supporting former President Uhuru Kenyatta, everyone was convinced he had the government’s support.
She said even after he lost the elections, most people did not fall for the claims that the elections were rigged.
“Raila Odinga will forever carry this ‘burden’ of supporting the former president when he was finishing his term. That made everyone to believe all the support you had was from there,” Elachi said.
She added that Azimio should focus on the next coming elections.
“The government is already focusing on how they are heading to 2027 and so should Azimio,” she said. BY THE STAR
