Man dies after falling off fourth floor in Marurui

A 43-year-old man died after falling from the fourth floor of a house under construction in Nairobi’s Marurui area.

David Mwai was among workers at a site in the area when he slid and fell on Thursday morning, police and witnesses said.

A foreman at the site said the workers were offloading marine boards from the fourth floor when Mwai slid and fell off.

He was rushed to Ruiru Level 4 Hospital where he succumbed due to direct impact to the lower limb and the chest.

Police were called to the scene and ordered the construction works to stop pending further probe.

Workers at the scene were briefly questioned as part of the probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man is admitted to hospital with a severed left wrist following a fight in Tasia, Nairobi.

The victim who is an electrician in the area was attacked by a guard at an apartment following a disagreement.

According to the police, the guard escaped the scene after the incident.

He used a panga to chop off the victim’s hand in the fight.

Police say they are yet to establish the motive of the attack.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where is he recuperating with doctors seeking ways of working on the severed hand.    BY MPASHO NEWS
