Narok: Shock as waiter found dead in a trench

A waiter at the Members club in Narok town was on Tuesday, August 8 found dead in a trench under mysterious circumstances.

Julius Mukulu was reportedly walking home on Monday night before his passing. As of now, the police are still in the process of determining the circumstances surrounding his death.

His lifeless body was found by passersby on their way to work and reported the matter to the police.

In a separate incident, One person died on the spot while several others sustained injuries following a fatal road accident involving two matatus at Leperes area along the Narok-Bomet Road.

According to the police report the accident occurred on August 8, involving a South Rift Sacco vehicle and another one belonging to Mizizi Sacco all heading in the same direction.

“It happened that the said matatus were being driven from Bomet towards Narok general direction and on reaching near the location of the accident, the vehicle in front slowed down abruptly to pick a passenger who had waved to be picked,” Narok police boss Kizito Mutoro said.

Mutoro said as the driver slowed down to pull his vehicle off the road but before he could pull out fully he was hit from behind by the motor by the other vehicle which was trailing at high speed and thrown to his far left side of the road.

“Both vehicles landed at the said ditch. As a result of the accident one student of St Paul Uriri was pronounced dead on arrival at Ololulunga Sub-county hospital Eight(8) passengers were seriously injured and ten passengers sustained slight injuries,” Mutoro said.

He mentioned that all the individuals who sustained injuries were rushed to Ololulunga Sub County Hospital, with certain cases necessitating referral to Narok County Hospital for specialized medical care.

The deceased’s body was subsequently transferred to Narok Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits an autopsy.

The involved vehicles have been towed to Ololunga Police Station, pending the commencement of thorough inspections. Cause code 29 has been applied.

The deaths bring to three people who have tragically lost their lives along the Narok route in the last 24 hours after Nyamira county assembly majority leader and Nyamai Ward MCA Elijah Osiemo died following a tragic road accident.

The accident occurred along Narok-Maai Mahiu near Maimahou in the satellite area on Monday, August 7, 2023.

The MCA was travelling with Nyamira Township Ward MCA Duke Masira who also doubles as the Deputy Majority leader in the Nyamira Assembly and Nominated MCA Priscillah Nyatichi.    BY K24 NEWS
