Actress Celestine Gachuhi, known to many as Selina has asked Kenyans to speak against cyberbullying.
In a message titled Stop cyberbullying, Gachuhi said this is a crucial issue that affects many, especially those in the public eye.
She added that it is a serious problem that has lasting effects on its victims.
“Cyberbullying is a serious problem that has lasting effects on its victims. My dear friend Azziad has been a victim for too long. No one should have to face hatred, harassment, or hurtful comments online.”
She continued;
“We are all human beings with emotions, dreams, and aspirations. Behind every profile picture is a real person with real feelings. We need to remember that words carry power and they can either build someone up or tear them down.”
“I urge all of you, my amazing followers, to join me in fostering a positive and compassionate online community.”
The actress asked her fans to speak out against cyberbullying, report it and stand in solidarity with the victims.
“Let’s be allies and not bystanders.”
“Let’s use our platforms to lift each other up, to inspire, to educate, and to spread kindness like wildfire. Your words have the power to create a ripple effect of change, so let’s use them for good.”
“Spread love, not hate. Let’s be the light that shines through the darkness.”
